Visit Chora to Be a ‘Myconnoisseur’

The island of the winds showcases a traditional Cycladic architecture, and in the cosmopolitan capital of Mykonos, known as Chora, you will find many such minimalist structures to explore. Cubic whitewashed houses dot the townscape like a handful of ice cupcakes, flaunting their brightly painted wooden doors, window frames, and balconies, most of them adorned with gorgeous flowers, like bougainvilleas – what a sight to behold!
Winding pebbled alleys lined with designer shops, lively cafes, popular bars, traditional taverns, gourmet restaurants, dazzling white churches, and impressive landmarks make Chora an ideal place to spend a whole day shopping, exploring, and relaxing. Chora has it all, and some of the sites that you should definitely include in your itinerary are Panagia Paraportiani Church, the Town Hall, the Castle rising above the town, and the Archaeological, Folklore and Maritime museums.
A visit to the hallmark of Mykonos, the Windmills, is a must, and a romantic saunter down Little Venice is not to be missed!

The latter is a mid-18th-century neighborhood, where captains and merchants were inspired by Venice and built their mansions in such a way that their balconies hover over the Aegean Sea.
Little Venice is ideal for admiring the scenery with your significant other, especially during sunset.
A stroll through the narrow alleys, the old port, Little Venice, the windmills, and the Castle, will initiate you into the authentic spirit of Mykonos. Now that you've been touched by this magical place, and got to know its secrets, you are rightfully dubbed a 'Myconnoisseur'.
